The Boylan Street Bridge Silo

These days in North Carolina it’s typically hot, hazy, and humid – no fun to shoot in, and certainly not the most pleasant looking either. Then it cools off by about 5-8 degrees (that’s about all it takes), there’s a light breeze and the clouds above get to moving a bit faster. While driving around running errands yesterday afternoon, I

June 2011 – Few and far between

Well now that I’m back on the ground in Raleigh for the past few months, I’ve been concentrating on developing my business here. Which means not only are the “for fun” shots are few and far between, I don’t even bother looking at them until a month later. So these are from sometime in the middle of June. The first

St. Louis!

Woo! Three days in St. Louis was fun. Got to see several friends while in town, eat at Pappy’s steakhouse, down three custards at Ted Drewes, satisfy my White Castle craving, get off some urban exploration and attend my buddy Jim’s wedding. Who the heck is Jim? Alright. For those of you who don’t know, there’s an arch thing in

Quick takes in Charlotte

For a city relatively close in proximity, I certainly don’t spend enough time in Charlotte! In March, I visited a few friends, had a commercial shoot, and during my spare time got off some snapshots downtown. I roamed around the city scoping future skyline shots for future visits and walked downtown a bit, focusing on the museum district, especially the

Back to Carolina

By early March, I was near the tail end of my contract work and determined to spend more time in North Carolina. To wrap up some of my travel: ROCKY MOUNT, NC I would like to spend more time in this town in the near future. There’s a nice historic downtown and plenty of industrial facilities I’d like to explore

Tennessee and Kentucky barns

Normal people spend New Year’s Eve in some metropolitan area counting down to the upcoming calendar year. I am clearly not normal and spent it in central Tennessee and western Kentucky. The biggest surprise of my venture into photography is an affinity towards the rural condition and this was the first real opportunity I had in a couple of years
