Dallas Area Architectural Photography – Red Meat

Finally, the last blog from my road trip through Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas. If my vegetarian and vegan followers will forgive the metaphor, but this is blog is 100% red meat – nothing but architecture, baby – no filler. Actually, you’ll also need to forgive me for the literal interpretation because that’s exactly what I ate a TON of while

Don’t Skip Arkansas, Part 2 – High and Dry

You read my previous two blogs from this trip, right? Of course you did, but in case you didn’t: October 2012 – Memphis, Tennessee Don’t Skip Arkansas, Part 1 – It’s really nice out there. I was pretty stoked to see the natural scenery in the Ozarks. The first location I stopped by was Petit Jean State Park, which has

Don’t Skip Arkansas, Part 1 – It’s really nice out there.

When I planned this latest trip, I knew I’d hit Memphis and Dallas, but noticed there was this state in-between: Arkansas. What in the world is in THAT state? So I asked my Facebook. After several people suggested driving through without stopping, many friends stepped in to make recommendations, which launched my planning for visiting the northwest part of the

October 2012 – Memphis, Tennessee

So I recently took a two-week road trip that I will completely present out of order. The first stop is Memphis, TN in which I stopped briefly on the way in and stayed for a weekend on the way back to Carolina. My friend, Jerry Coleman graciously hosted me and it was great to catch up with him and meet

1.5K Jaunt: Part 2 – G’night Philly and Baltimore

This is part two of my recent sprint to New Jersey and back. You may see my previous blog at: Part 1 – Exit through Camden So after spending the day in luxurious Camden, I hopped over to the Philly side. As I crossed over I received my first phone call from a potential client I had been speaking with

1.5K Jaunt: Part 1 – Exit through Camden

I recently visited my home state of New Jersey, pausing for a few stops along the way and back in a 1500 mile round trip. I was turned onto a renovated gas station in Elmer, NJ by another photographer and decided to take a side trip on the way to my parents’ house. Elevating over downtown Elmer is a large

Summer 2012 – The In Between

Woohoo, my 101st blog post! When I began this blog I was purely an amateur fine art photographer who practiced architecture as my full-time job. Four years later I’m a professional photographer who does a bit of architecture on the side. The bittersweet part of becoming professional is that I rarely get to shoot all the things I purely shoot for fun. So on the occasion I have that chance, I certainly savor the moment. It’s been a busy summer with many jobs and a lot of travel on the behalf of my clients. These are a few photos I’ve managed to capture in between.

North Carolina Architectural Photography – Natuzzi USA

Okay, so – one of my new clients is Weaver Cooke Construction. I’ve been on assignment shooting a wide range of projects for them, the most intensive was the Natuzzi USA headquarters located in downtown furniture district in High Point, North Carolina. How do I say this – it’s built like a boat. No, really – take a look for

The Stonewall Jackson School, Part 2 – We All Need Band-Aids

In the middle of February after some work-related travel, I visited the grounds of the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center in Concord. A couple of weeks later, I used more work travel as an excuse to venture inside some of the buildings (yessssssss Mary, I was careful). However I’ve been so busy that it’s taken about a month and a

The Stonewall Jackson School, Part 1 – The Forsaken

Yup yet another blog! I stumbled upon the remnants of the old Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center in Concord, North Carolina, during work travel. I typically try to take a little time to myself on my birthday but had to work that day – including traveling through this area. So as a birthday present to myself, I shot photography for

Windy day urban shots

After heading downtown to shoot the new AIA building and Archdale buildings a few days earlier, Friday proved to be an overcast, windy day. I looked outside, had a bit of time and figured it would be a good chance to revisit those sites and walk a bit in downtown Raleigh. Friday was an overcast, windy day which I figured
