Northeast Lakeview College Paluxy Hall – Texas Architectural Photography

It has been awesome having the opportunity to collaborate with Ford, Powell & Carson the past couple of years. Last autumn I captured a recent major academic project at Northeast Lakeview College, Paluxy Hall in Universal City, Texas – a STEM academic research and classroom building. Turner Construction was the general contractor and IMEG were engineers.  I also captured furniture

Black Architectural Photographers

As architecture steadily becomes increasingly diverse with greater percentages of other minorities filling its ranks, architecture remains only 2% Black.  Upon leaving the profession and transitioning to architectural photography. I began to wonder how many other Black photographers captured the same subject matter and the closest I was geographically aware of were in Washington DC and Atlanta.  Five years ago,

Chavis Community Center – Raleigh Architectural photography

This summer I had the opportunity to work with Raleigh architects, Clearscapes in downtown, for the brand new John Chavis Memorial Park Community Center.  It is an historic park that was a major marker for African-Americans during the Jim Crow era and continues to be integral to the local community today.  The new community center is the heart of upgrades

Architectural Photography – Two North Carolina Apartments

This blog features two apartments in two very different parts of North Carolina.  First, is the RADVIEW in Asheville’s River Art District, designed by Laura Hudson Architecture, built by Beverly-Grant Construction, and developed by GM Property Group. This contemporary multi-use building can be seen perched from across the French Broad River. The bold metal facade housing the apartment units hovers

The Eastern High Rise in Raleigh

This summer, I had the pleasure of photographing the Eastern Residences high rise tower in Raleigh’s North Hills. Once again, I worked with Kane Realty and the architect is Smallwood, out of Atlanta, GA.  The Eastern is currently the tallest building in midtown Raleigh, located in the heart of Kane’s ever-growing development. The glass facade makes quite an impression from

North Carolina Architectural Photography – Modernizing a Craftsman Home

Charlotte, North Carolina is littered with craftsman-style houses. Once again, I worked in the Dilworth section with architect and friend, Jessica Hindman of Studio H Home Design. We haven’t worked together since before the pandemic and it was wonderful to collaborate together again. I captured a few projects with her but my favorite was transforming this existing craftsman house that

Nashville Housing Developments – EOA Architects

This spring I again had the pleasure of working with EOA Architects near downtown Nashville, photographing several projects including some multifamily developments. Thrive at City Heights mixed-used development, located at 27th & Clifton, certainly makes an immediate impression in the neighborhood.  The main longitudinal mass contains 29 residential flats with retail space below, and a secondary building contains single-family townhouses.

North Carolina Architectural Photography – Burch Avenue Modern Home

2022 marks a personal return to residential architectural photography, so capturing one good home deserves another, right? As everyone knows, modern architecture has re-emerged with renewed vigor over the past couple of decades, especially in the Triangle area of North Carolina. This time around I got to work with Arrowhead and the modern vernacular of their Burch Avenue design in

Texas Residential Architecture – Boerne Addition

Despite being non-stop busy for a number of  years, between you and me, let’s pretend it hasn’t been four years since I’ve photographed a house. (…shhhhhhhhh…) I had the distinct pleasure of working with Felix Ziga of Ziga Architecture to photograph an addition and interior renovation of a single-family home in Boerne, Texas.  The original house is clad with stone.

Interior Office Photography – Zachry Construction

Back to the workplace! In San Antonio, I recently worked with Studio 8 Architects to photograph Zachry Construction Corporation‘s new office space, located in a 2-story commercial building. Upon shuttling through the lobby, the layout opens to the workspace floor with cubicles and adjacent private offices.  The line of demarcation between the open layout and program beyond is a dividing

Pfeiffer University Health Sciences – North Carolina Architectural Photography

Finally, wrapping up completed 2021 projects! Once again, I worked with long-established client Little in Albemarle, North Carolina for Pfeiffer University’s first building in the city. A staple of Stanly County since it’s founding, the university strives to impact the town and create a new hub for rural healthcare in the state. Albemarle is historically a mill town built alongside
